Philipsburg Sint Maarten (Dutch part)

The small yet charming Philipsburg on the Dutch side of the Caribbean island Saint Martin welcomes visitors to explore the two main streets stretching between Great Bay and the Great Salt Pond. Beautiful pastel-coloured buildings and palm trees line the streets, while visitors are attracted to the duty-free shopping, jewellery stores, and casinos on Front Street.

The boardwalk along Great Bay beach is a great place to stop for a refreshing beer in one of the many beachside bars, listen to street entertainers and watch people skating, rollerblading and even Segway tours pass by. Discover the history of the indigenous Arawak people at the Maarten Museum and visit the ruins of the 17th century Fort Amsterdam.
