Great Harbour, Jost Van Dyke British Virgin Islands

Great Harbour is the main arrival point to Jost Van Dyke island in the British Virgin Islands. Located in the Caribbean, the harbor benefits from a tropical climate and is identified by its white sandy horseshoe shaped beach and crystal clear waters. The area is popular with watersports and dinghies and is host to a variety of laid back Caribbean beach bars and restaurants. The island itself is well known for colourful folklore tales and its rugged volcanic scenery. Visitors can enjoy exploring the island with its sugar mill ruins and old trails that run east to west across the island. From the land, visitors can view the natural sea-formed jacuzzi at East End and observe whales and dolphins in the waters around. Benefiting from warm shallow seas, sailing and swimming are popular activities as well as diving to the coral reefs. From the island a short boat ride will take you to some of the surrounding smaller islands, such as Little Jost Van Dyke, Green Cay and Sandy Spit. Jost Van Dyke is known for its flavoured cuisine such as barbecues, West Indian inspired dishes and freshly caught fish and lobster.
