Join us for a once-in-a-lifetimejourney to observe the Total Solar Eclipse before visiting the last untouchedcontinent. First we will go along the coast of Patagonia and will head over to severalof the Falkland Islands, looking for Black-browed Albatross, RockhopperPenguins and Imperial Cormorants. You should also keep your eyes peeled for thelovely black and white Commerson’s dolphins in the Falklands. Then wecontinue to breathtaking South Georgia. Huge King Penguin colonies, its whalinghistory and Sir Ernest Shackleton’s Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition withthe Endurance make South Georgiaspecial. Sailing towards Elephant Island, we will be in position to observe theTotal Solar Eclipse north of the South Orkney Islands. Antarctica will showspectacular icebergs and calving glaciers and the possibility of up-closeencounters with penguins ashore, seals sunbathing on slow-moving ice floes andhumpback or minke whales surfacing close to the ship. Weatherdepending, we will take daily Zodiac and kayak departures in South Georgia and Antarcticaand cruise amidst colorful icebergs, or step ashore to visit a variety ofpenguin rookeries and research stations on excursions led by our team ofnatural history experts.
